BAFTAS!
Congratulations to De Lane Lea's effects mixer Doug Cooper who, is nominated for a BAFTA film award for his work as part of the sound team on Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.
Doug worked alongside Dialogue mixer Howard Bargroff in Studio 1, with sound supervisors Andy Shelley and Steve Griffiths.
John Casali is also nominated as the production sound Mixer on the film.
Doug, who was previously nominated for a BAFTA in 2007, said: "It's great to have been nominated, particularly for a film which is so focused on fine detail and atmosphere rather than huge set pieces, but we're obviously up against some stiff competition."

De Lane Lea would also like to congratulate the sound team on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 for their BAFTA nomination.
Mike Dowson, Stuart Hilliker and Adam Scrivener mixed in Studios 1, 2 and 3 with sound supervisor James Mather, and production sound mixer Stuart Wilson.

SCREAM AWARDS 2011
The 6th SCREAM AWARDS, which were held on Saturday 15th October, honour the best in fantasy, sci-fi, comics and horror in film and television. De Lane Lea is very happy to congratulate all the winners from the night especially the following:
‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2’, who completed all of their Audio Post at DLL, picked up several awards including: The Ultimate Scream, Best Scream Play, Best Fantasy Actor (Daniel Radcliffe), Best Villain (Ralph Fiennes), Holy Sh!t Scene of the Year (The Room of Requirement) and Best FX.
‘X-Men: First Class’, mixed by De Lane Lea‘s Chris Burdon, won Best Fantasy Movie.
‘Game of Thrones’, who recorded all of their DVD commentary records in Studio 4, won Best TV Show, Best Supporting Actor (Peter Dinklage) and Best Female Breakout Performance (Emilia Clarke)
Matt Smith, who has recorded his ‘Doctor Who’ ADR with us, won the Best Science Fiction Actor
The amazing ‘Scott Pilgrim vs The World’, which was another mixed at De Lane Lea, triumphed with Fight Scene of the Year and Best Comic Book Movie!
‘The Walking Dead’, whose principle actor, Andrew Lincoln, recorded his ADR in Studio 6, took home the award for Best Comic Book⁄Graphic Novel

De Lane Lea finished 2010 after a busy first year back following the fire.
The 3rd Narnia Film, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader was released following its mix in Studio 1 with Paul Massey and Mike Hedges. De Lane Lea loved having the team from Narnia here and look forward to hopefully seeing them again one day!
The latest Disney film, produced by Elton John´s Rocket Pictures, Gnomeo & Juliet was mixed in Studio 3 by DLL´s Chris Burdon and Doug Cooper, and Pinewood´s Richard Pryke.
Chris and Doug were kept busy mixing Paul in Studio 1. Starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, Paul is a comedy sci-fi from Big Talk productions, the team behind such fantastic films as Hot Fuzz and Scott Pilgrim

A great night was had by everyone who attended this year´s Conch Awards and De Lane Lea celebrated with 3 great wins:
Chris Burdon won Re-Recording Mixer of the year for his amazing work this year on Kick Ass and Scott Pilgrim.
Chris and his co-mixer, Doug Cooper, both won as part of the sound team on Kick Ass, along with the guys from Phaze UK.
And we were especially thrilled that our engineer, Joe Maher, was awarded unsung hero of the year:

De Lane Lea was delighted to be chosen as the first UK Audio Post Facility to be featured on the Soundworks Collection website.

As of June 2010, De Lane Lea is back up and running at No 75.
The first big mix is underway in Studio 1 and the new acoustics and speakers sound fantastic.
Studio 2 is currently undergoing a major redesign and will be a fabulous space once it’s finished.

The film industry’s annual football event, in association with Action For Children, took place on Saturday 29th May at Upton Park.
34 teams battled it out across four 5-a-side pitches on a grey and rainy day, and this year, De Lane Lea was one of those rain-drenched teams! Team Captain (and Re-Recording Mixer) Doug Cooper said of the event, “It’s such a good cause and everyone who went had a great day out.” Everyone at De Lane Lea would like to congratulate overall winners Provenance Films and thank the Action For Children team for organising such a fabulous event.

A small team from DLL recently travelled to the Cannes Film Festival, as proud sponsors of the Women in Film & TV drinks reception, held at the UK Pavilion on Sunday 16th May.
A great time was had by all and the reception was a great success. This continues the fantastic working relationship between DLL and WiFTV after we became their headline sponsor of their 2010 awards back in December last year.

Back in March, the European Premiere took place of the amazing Matthew Vaughan film, Kick Ass, and was attended by De Lane Lea Mixers Chris Burdon and Doug Cooper.
Sadly due to the fire, they couldn’t mix in Studio 1 as it wasn’t open in time. But they both did a fantastic job and if you haven’t seen Kick Ass yet you have to check it out! This was an ongoing collaboration between Matthew and Chris, and the marvellous guys at Phaze UK, Danny & Matt and their team.
